Dr. Dessislava Pachamanova
Dr. Pachamanova graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Mathematics and
a certificate from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy. She received
her Ph.D in Operations Research from the Sloan School of Management at
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Pachamanova's research interests lie in the areas of optimization, statistics,
and financial engineering. Her most recent work focuses on optimization under
parameter uncertainty, and has applications in credit risk management and
portfolio optimization. Dr. Pachamanova is a member of INFORMS and the Sigma
Xi Honorary Research Society. Her academic research has been supplemented with
work in the financial industry, including projects with strategy groups at WestLB
and Goldman Sachs. Before coming to Babson College, Dr. Pachamanova taught at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Princeton University, including courses
in management science, probability, statistics, and financial mathematics.
